Last November, our school had the honor of hosting a group of students from "Gesamtschule Weierheide" in Oberhausen, Germany, as part of the Erasmus+ program. During their stay, the German students took part in a rich cultural and educational experience that promoted sustainability, recycling, and cultural exchange with our students and their families.

Activities to Promote Recycling and Sustainability

From the very first day, the German and Spanish students came together to engage in activities related to environmental care. These included practical workshops on recycling and a session on the importance of reducing plastic use. They also participated in a sustainability awareness day.

Visits to the Arboretum and El Escorial

Nature and history were also key parts of the program. The students visited the arboretum, where they learned about local biodiversity and the importance of preserving ecosystems. Guided by experts, they explored native tree and plant species.

Cultural Interaction with Spanish Families

One of the most enriching aspects of this experience was the opportunity to live with Spanish families. The German students quickly integrated into the daily lives of their hosts, sharing traditional meals, family activities, and unforgettable moments. Meanwhile, the Spanish students practiced their language skills in English and German, thus strengthening the bonds of friendship and intercultural understanding.

We eagerly look forward to future Erasmus+ experiences that continue building bridges between cultures!
